Italian flyer joins Bristol Bears on trial while promising young fullback Mat Prothero makes injury return
Former Glasgow Warriors wing and 34-times-capped Italian international Leonardo Sarto has been taken on a month-long trial with Bristol Bears.
Sarto, 26, scored an impressive nine tries in just 18 appearances for Glasgow, having joined the club during the summer of 2016. Following shoulder surgery in January that would rule him out for the remainder of the season, Sarto left the Warriors over the summer and will look to make his return to the top tier of club rugby with the bears.
The former Zebre wing will start for Bristol's A team in the Premiership Cup this Sunday, facing Harlequins.
Meanwhile, Bristol's exciting young fullback Mat Prothero is set to make his return from injury alongside Sarto after nearly a year on the sidelines with a knee injury.
