Scotland and Worcester Warriors number eight David Denton has signed for Premiership rivals Leicester Tigers.
Leicester Tigers have announced the signing of Worcester Warriors and Scottish international number eight David Denton. The Zimbabwean-born backrow will join Tigers at the end of the current season.
Denton, 28, has earned 36 caps for Scotland to date and has enjoyed spells at Bath and Worcester in the Premiership since leaving Edinburgh in 2015.
Tigers head coach Matt O’Connor said: “We’re delighted that David has agreed to come to Leicester. He is a top-quality player with a lot of experience at the highest level and we still think there is more improvement to come in his game.
“He has a useful skillset in possession, he is a physical player, he is a good age profile for us and is just the kind of player we’ve been looking to add to our options in the forward pack. We look forward to working with him.”
Denton said: “I’m really excited to be joining Leicester Tigers next season. The club has a rich and celebrated history as well as a squad that is very capable of winning more trophies over the next few years.”
Denton's signing follows the addition of fellow forwards Will Spencer (from Worcester Warriors) and Guy Thompson (from Wasps) for the 2018/19 season.
