Former Scotland and current London Irish flanker Blair Cowan has joined Premiership rivals Saracens on a short-term deal.
Saracens have signed the backrower for the remainder of the current season, following the injury to flanker Calum Clark last Sunday.
Cowan, 31, represented Scotland 17 times between 2014 and 2016. The backrower will provide ample cover for Saracens while the likes of Clark, Michael Rhodes, Schalk Burger, Joe Conlon and Billy Vunipola continue their return from injury.
Saracens head coach Mark McCall commented earlier today: “We’re very fortunate to bring in a player of Blair’s experience and quality,”
“He will provide great cover for the amount of injuries we have in the back row and we’re extremely grateful to London Irish for allowing him to join us.”
Cowan can be recalled at any time as part of the loan agreement.
