Northampton Saints confirmed earlier today that Fijian international prop Ma'afu will leave the club at the end of the season.
The 50-times-capped loosehead will make his final appearance at Franklins Gardens in the last game of the season next month. In three seasons at the Gardens, Ma'afu has racked up 35 appearances in the Black, Green and Gold.
“To be able to run out in front of the crowd at Franklin’s Gardens has been a great experience, and I’m proud to have played for a great Club in Saints,” said Ma’afu.
“I want to thank the supporters here in Northampton for always getting behind me, and I wish the rest of the squad and the coaches the very best for the future.”
It is unconfirmed where the 33-year-old will play his rugby next season and may well follow the path of his older brother yet again with a lucrative contract in France.
