Former England U20 Junior Rugby World Cup captain Ben Curry has been named as the man to lead Sale Sharks in the new Premiership Rugby Cup competition.
Unable to break into the senior national side to the same effect as his brother, Ben will look to further establish himself as one of the top opensides in the Premiership.
Speaking about his impending captaincy to Sale Sharks TV, Curry said: "I do enjoy the responsibility, it puts a lot more pressure on your shoulders, I like the pressure. It's another experience to add to."
In their team news release, Sale stated: "In accordance with the spirit of the competition, a predominantly young side with a 20-year-old captain will take to the field. Just three players in the fifteen – Kieran Wilkinson, Ben Curry and Josh Beaumont – were starters against Connacht last Saturday
"Lined up for senior debuts at Worcester are Tom Roebuck, Sam Dugdale, Nic Dolly, Teddy Leatherbarrow, Matt Sturgess, Tom Curtis and Nathan Pope."
