Saracens' South African duo Michael Rhodes and Vincent Koch on track to return from injury in weekend's Premiership action.
Saracens are set to be boosted by the return of starting South African forward duo Rhodes and Koch against Bath this weekend.
Rhodes (hamstring) and Koch (ankle) have been sorely missed by Sarries, with their absences felt during their Champions Cup exit against Leinster last month.
Saracens Director of Rugby Mark McCall revealed this news during a media session earlier today. “We’re looking to have Michael Rhodes involved, Vincent Koch as well, as long as they come through training,” McCall said.
“Today (Wednesday) was an important day for that so we’ll see how they react. Hopefully those two will be available.”
Another on the Sarries casualty list nearing a return is Billy Vunipola but Sunday’s sold-out match at Allianz Park comes too soon.
The England international is still recovering from a fractured arm and despite not being fit for an outing, McCall insists his number 8 has been working incredibly hard to get fit.
McCall also commented on the the state of fitness of England number eight Billy Vunipola. The barnstorming backrower fractured his forearm against Ospreys earlier this year.
McCall insisted Vunipola was not yet ready to make his return, despite nearing involvement in the match day squad to face Leinster in the Champions Cup playoffs last month.
He said: “He’s the fittest Billy Vunipola we’ve had for a long time but he’s just not ready to play yet.
“He won’t be available for this weekend. Hopefully he’ll be available for London Irish but if not then, Gloucester.”
Saracens will look to chase table toppers Exeter Chiefs with a victory over Bath this weekend, hosting the West Country outfit at Allianz Park this Sunday (3pm kick-off).
