Ahead of the All Blacks visit to Twickenham this weekend, England head coach Eddie Jones has confirmed that the national side's first-choice openside flanker Tom Curry has been ruled out for the remainder of the autumn international period.
The 20-year-old Sale Sharks product suffered an ankle injury during England.s 12-11 victory over the Springboks last weekend, forced from the field during the 41st minute. Jones is expected to name Bath backrower Sam Underhill in Curry's vacant seven jersey against the All Blacks.
A hammer blow for Curry, who has rocketed to fame over the last two seasons, establishing himself as the best openside in England at the young age of just 19.
Twin brother of fellow Sale openside Ben Curry, Tom also missed a significant chunk of England's 2017/18 season, suffering a wrist injury this time last year, missing over six months of action, including England's 2018 Six Nations campaign, a time in which England relied on out of position blindside Chris Robshaw before turning to a fit again James Haskell in their final game against Ireland.
