Eddie Jones' England side have been hit with a host of injuries ahead off his side's Six Nations trip to France.
Jack Nowell, Sam Underhill and Zach Mercer have all returned to their clubs with injuries that see the trio ruled out of England's game against France this weekend.
Nowell (ankle), Underhill (toe) and Mercer were all competing for either starting or bench roles in Paris, but will now be forced to tune from home.
Captain Dylan Hartley is struggling with muscle tightness in his leg which has seen England head coach Eddie Jones call up Exeter Chiefs hooker Luke Cowan-Dickie as cover. Fellow Chiefs front-rower Harry Williams is suffering from a neck problem and is in danger of losing his bench role to Harlequins and British and Irish Lions tighthead Kyle Sinckler.
Nowell's injury further cements the likely inclusion of Elliot Daly in the matchday 23. Able to cover multiple positions in the backline, Daly could feature anywhere from centre, wing, fullback or merely a bench appearance.
Underhill's exclusion will allow Wasps flanker James Haskell to return to a matchday squad, with Mercer unlikely to have broken into the 23 even when fit.
