Eddie Jones names the England squad to face the Barbarians at Twickenham this weekend.
The England Head Coach has named a side with a blend of old heads and new faces to be tested against an all-star Barbarians lineup.
Elliot Daly earns his first start for England at fullback while Mike Brown is shifted onto the wing. Sale Sharks flyer Denny Solomona fails to break into the starting XV.
Henry Trinder, Zach Mercer, Jack Singleton and Elliot Stooke all earn starts and have their chance to impress the England coaching team ahead of the summer tour to South Africa and beyond.
Wasps' playmaking duo Dan Robson and Danny Cipriani both take their spots on the bench despite the widespread hope of their inclusions in a starting jersey. Newcastle Falcons-bound hooker George McGuigan, Worcester tighthead prop Nick Schonert, Sale Sharks lock Josh Beaumont and Newcastle blindside Mark Wilson all take up their spots as finishers, hoping to make an impression at Twickenham ahead of the 2019 World Cup.
“This is a good young squad and their work ethic has been outstanding over the last two weeks," said Jones.
"Their application to learn has been very good but they are very young at Test rugby level so this week’s match against the Barbarians is a fantastic opportunity for them to step up.
“As last year Chris Robshaw and George Ford will co-captain the side. Their combined experience and expertise gives us the best captaincy level for the game.
“We can’t wait to get back to Twickenham and get on the front foot, please the fans and play some good rugby.”
Number eight Nathan Hughes is left out of the side altogether after only recently returning from major knee surgery last weekend and will continue to build fitness ahead of the three-Test tour against the Springboks.
