Eddie Jones names 34-man England squad to tour South Africa this June
England Head Coach Eddie Jones has rung the changes ahead of this summer's tour to South Africa, with a handful of squad mainstays set to remain at home this June, replaced by aspiring youngsters yet to earn a regular starting role with their clubs.
Dan Cole, James Haskell, Danny Care and Jack Nowell have all been given the summer off due to a mixture of heavy seasons or niggling injuries.
As expected, Hurricanes blindside flanker Brad Shields has been included in Jones' squad after being given the green light by the NZRU in the early hours of this morning.
The surprise inclusions in England's squad are that of Sale Sharks fly-half/centre Cameron Redpath and Saracens openside Ben Earl. The duo are joined by Wasps backrow Jack Willis, who has risen to fame this season after some storming performances in the Premiership.
Wasps stars Danny Cipriani and Dan Robson have both also earned call-ups, with Cipriani set to earn his first cap in three years. The Wasps half-back pairing will be in direct competition with Tigers duo Ben Youngs and George Ford, the current incumbents to the England nine and ten jersey.
