With the final two in the Aviva premiership decided and the two home sides making the final as expected, the season’s concluding weekend at Twickenham looks to be an intriguing matchup. I see it as a real ‘toss of a coin’ fixture and it really will come down to the smallest of margins on the day.
This season’s first semi-final was a high scoring thriller at Allianz Park, with Saracens running out the eventual winners 57-33 in the highest scoring Premiership play-off game to date. Wasps more than played their part, but Saracens quality proved too strong in the end.
In our second game Exeter Chiefs looked like they were in a different league to Newcastle Falcons, dominating from start to finish. The fact that the Chiefs first piece of possession lasted 24 phases epitomized their performance. For Newcastle it was a step too far this year but they have had such an impressive step up this season and things look promising in the North East.
In my team of the week I have found room for five Saracens players, seven Chiefs and three Wasps.
Roll on next week so we can find out this year's winners of the Aviva Premiership. My money is on Exeter just pinching it, but I wouldn’t bet against Saracens regaining their title
